After moving from his farm 4 1/2 miles south of Beaumont Alfred Dubord built his retirement home one block from the church in 1919. In the 1930’s Léopold Magnan bought the house and it has remained in the family. It has been our hope to ensure that this picturesque home with the green trim is preserved and made available for use as a historic resource.
We are pleased to announce that the house will be moved to its new location at the Agricultural Society Fairgrounds where it will join the Gobeil Heritage Barn which is already on the site. The move will take place on Wednesday, October 29th, 2020. Next spring, when the ground has thawed, a new foundation will be constructed for the house. We will post photos of the historic move.
